confessions of a hairdresser - a space to pause reflect and refesh.

Confessions of a Hairdresser is my memoir and feature film project, currently in development. It traces the journey from a working-class childhood in Northampton, through a career styling some of fashion's biggest names, into addiction and a 2015 HIV diagnosis, and out the other side into the recovery that became I Can I Am and I Will. At its centre is the idea of the chair as a confessional space.

The Magic Chair

A companion piece to the memoir: The Magic Chair is a short, allegorical story telling the origin of this philosophy through the eyes of a child — built around my Auntie Val teaching me hairdressing as the gift of connection. It's the seed the I Can / I Am / I Will mantra grew from.
